Skryf

What's new in Skryf

1.3.0 — September 2026

Admin is rebuilt around what you do there, and the way into Skryf has fewer dead ends.

New

  • Admin opens on a list of every blog. Each blog has its own page, and suspending one first says exactly what will happen.
  • Admin has Sign-ups, Front page and Mail screens in plain words. A new invitation is a full link to copy, and Mail says in one sentence whether email is working.
  • Signing in takes you back to the page you were trying to open.

Better

  • Skryf tells you when your email isn't confirmed yet. Publish links you to confirm it, the code page lets you sign out, and the front page points you there.
  • Coming back to your blog says welcome back. Straight after you confirm your email, it says so, even if you already have drafts.
  • Signed in, the front page's header says Your posts, and opening Sign in or Sign up takes you straight to them.
  • An image from another website no longer loads on your blog, so readers are never tracked through it.

Fixed

  • Once you've been signed out, your posts and settings ask you to sign in instead of saying there's nothing there.

Security and reliability improvements.

1.2.0 — September 2026

Your posts, your editor and your first minutes on Skryf, made calmer.

New

  • Posts is one quiet list: each post is a single line with its title, whether it's a draft, and its date. Tabs for All, Drafts and Published, and one search box.
  • A new blog greets you with its address and one button: Write your first post. The same step waits for you straight after you confirm your email.
  • When you're signed in, you can sign out from the foot of any page, and skryf.art says Your blog instead of Sign in.

Better

  • Blog pages read in a serif column with your blog's name, About and RSS at the top, and a footer that's yours, ending in Made with Skryf. On large screens the text is a little bigger.
  • The editor's top line says whether the post is a draft or published, links to the live post once it's out, and shows when it last saved, like Saved 14:32.
  • A post can't be published without a title, and a published post keeps its title if you clear the field.
  • When sign-up can't go through, it says what's wrong at the top and beside the field, and keeps what you typed.

Fixed

  • Editing a post straight after publishing it no longer says it was changed elsewhere.

Security and reliability improvements.

1.1.0 — September 2026

Every writing screen now shares one quiet header.

New

  • Every writing screen has a calm top bar — your blog, Posts, Settings and View blog — with Sign out at the edge.
  • Settings has its own sections: Blog, Account and Domain.
  • Skryf has an icon: a small ‘s’ and a blinking cursor, in your browser tab and on your home screen.

Better

  • The admin page has a way back.
  • Every link to your list of posts says Posts.

1.0.0 — September 2026

The first numbered release: a quiet place to write, and to read.

New

  • skryf.art has a proper front door: what Skryf is, and one button — Start writing.
  • Creating a blog asks for your address first, and shows it as you'll get it: yourname.skryf.art.
  • Posts are set in a calm serif for long reading; the writing tools stay in a clean monospace.

Better

  • Every sign-in, sign-up and legal page has a way home.
  • The address field says exactly what it accepts — letters, numbers and hyphens, up to 32 characters — and your browser now checks it as you type.
  • The editor's preview looks exactly like the published post.

Fixed

  • Signing in from skryf.art now takes you straight to your own blog in every browser.

Security and reliability improvements.
